Lee County has formalised an agreement confirming its financial support for Keokuk Area Hospital (KAH). The Board of Supervisors has committed $100,000 in local match funding, with the principal objective of enabling KAH to access approximately $250,000 in federal funds – money that has been sitting frozen in the county’s economic development fund for over a year. The Case for Funding the Hospital

Attention has consequently shifted to constructing a standalone building for the Lee County Department of Health, with a site near the prison complex under consideration.
