We're About 9 - March 3, 2012

"On one end of the county we have guns... On the other end, we have the Jahva House." -Howard County Sheriff's Department

So begins the story of We're About 9. Brian and Katie's weekly open mic at the Jahva House in Ellicott City, MD captured the attention of the Sheriff's Department not for disorderliness, but rather for regularly breaking fire codes with attendance flooding both floors of the cafe and spilling out into the street. After the open mic ended each week, the music would continue outside in the parking lot. It was in that magical location that Katie Graybeal, Brian Gundersdorf, and Pat Klink first started sculpting their distinctive vocal harmony arrangements.

The Steel Wheels- March 24, 2012, 7:00 p.m.

The Steel Wheels

The Steel Wheels are truly an Americana band, rooted in musical styles that explore the territories between blues and bluegrass, old-time sing-alongs and foot-stompin' fiddle tunes.

If one must compare The Steel Wheels to another act in order to get an idea of their music, imagine a blend of the passion of The Avett Brothers, the instrumentals of Old Crow Medicine Show, and then sprinkle in the backwoods feel of The Legendary Shack Shakers. In truth, attempting to compare them with anyone is an injustice, since after one listen you can hear that they stand very well on their own perch. We invite you to come out and have that listen for yourself as The Steel Wheels wind up our 2011/2012 Celebration Concert season!
