New WIU Art Exhibit Explores Violence in Our Culture

A new exhibit at the Western Illinois University Art gallery features images that might be most familiar from the news, including unmanned drones and Iraqi detainees.

Dominic Sansone uses theses images in his new show "It Shoots Further than We Dream" to explore the role of violence in our culture.

Old Space, New Look for 3-D Art Studios

A demonstration of a metal cutting machine in the new 3-D Art Studios

The 3-D Art Studios at Western Illinois University received a long overdue overhaul.

The program is housed in the lower level of the Heating Plant Annex. Professor Kat Myers said the space was previously a gymnasium, locker room, and storage room, which were not remodeled much after the program moved into the building.

Now -- after many years -- a full renovation has been completed.  Myers said even the little things make a big difference.
