New Data Shows Higher Incomes in the Tri States

Recent numbers indicate the economy might be picking up steam in the tri states.
The Illinois Department  of Commerce and Economic Opportunity reports per capita personal income in McDonough county rose five-percent…and it increased seven-percent in Hancock County.

Galesburg Trade Delegation to Indonesia

Mayor Sal Garza

Mayor Sal Garza, Global Strategies Director Gary Camarano, and representatives from 10-12 of the region’s companies will take part in a trade mission to Indonesia.

Most of them will begin the trip on Monday, December 3. Garza will join them a day later after overseeing the December 3 city council meeting. Aldermen will be asked that night to approve the city’s 2013 budget.

Garza has a couple goals for the trip.

Students Studying Wind Power

A central Illinois wind farm

Winds farms are dotting the landscape across Illinois, and now wind energy is working its way into school curriculum.
 
A new Illinois Wind Energy Program is being offered in three Central Illinois school  districts, including Cuba Middle-Senior High in Fulton County. The program is free of charge through the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity.
