Tri States Public Radio http://tristatesradio.com en Ameren & ComEd Get Their Way in Illinois http://tristatesradio.com/post/ameren-comed-get-their-way-illinois <p>The Illinois General Assembly has overridden Governor Pat Quinn's veto of legislation that addresses so-called "Smart Grid" technology.</p><p></p><p>Ameren and ComEd pushed the bill to clarify legislation from 2011 that allowed the utilities to raise rates to fund the high-tech “Smart Grid” system.</p><p>The Illinois Commerce Commission had disagreed with the utilities over implementation.
