Wednesday May 1- America Abroad: "Global Energy and Innovations."
Thursday May 2- Alternative Radio: Martin Lee, co-founder of Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting (FAIR), talks about "Medical Marijuana."
Wednesday May 8- Humankind: In the first segment, public radio visionary Bill Siemering, who conceived NPR's mission, discusses his recent activities of developing community radio services in third world nations as a way to give people a voice and to heal conflict.
In the second segment, journalist Katie Davis tells of her encounters with the kids of Washington's Adams Morgan section, whom she decided to mentor after they confided their fears of drugs, gangs and weapons.
Thursday May 9- Alternative Radio: David Suzuki, Professor Emeritus at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, talks about "A Radical Environmental Paradigm."
Wednesday May 15- Intelligence Squared US: "The GOP Must Seize The Center or Die."
Thursday May 16- Alternative Radio: Journalist and author Pankaj Mishra talks about "India & Kashmir- Breaking the Silence."
Wednesday May 22- Humankind: In the first segment, the "end of literacy and triumph of spectacle" is considered by Pulitzer-winning journalist Chris Hedges, who believes a popular culture of distraction damages not only our democracy but also our sense of who we are as human beings.
In the second segment, in a poor county of Kansas, an idealistic staff of physicians, nurses and administrators provides medical care to indigent patients who pay minimal fees or even barter services like cooking and picking flowers for the clinic.
Thursday May 23- Alternative Radio: Former Congressman Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) talks about "War and Peace."
