Federal Money Available For Iowa Schools
Fort Madison, IA – Iowa Senator Tom Harkin says there is about $15,000,000 in the federal budget to help schools districts improve their facilities. Since 1998, more than $116,000,000 has been awarded to over 250 Iowa school districts. Harkin says the money makes it easier for districts to pass bond issues for construction. The Fort Madison school district has received more than $1,900,000 over the years while the Keokuk school district has recieved over $1,500,000.
