Committee Turns Down Exemption

Macomb, IL – The request was for a home purchased in 2004. Chairman John Lawson said it's up to the homeowner to apply for any exemptions, and told the woman who asked how she could assure future exemptions. At its meeting last month, the full board defeated a motion that would've put an end to applications for the tax break. Lawson says that does not mean the board is willing to accept more requests.
